Tip: Ditch your scale. It is NOT a good way to track your progress, and it is not remotely reliable.
I conducted a little experiment today to prove my point. To be clear, I absolutely do not give a second thought when it comes to my weight. I want to feel strong, fit, athletic, healthy, AND comfortable. I could care less what my weight is.
I NEVER weigh myself unless it is to prove some point as I absolutely think that the scale is SO detrimental to most people, and it is not the least bit indicative of overall progress in terms of fitness, body composition, or health.
I really wish I had weighed myself first thing in the morning when I hadn't had anything to eat or drink as the difference would have been much greater. My first weigh-in was after I'd already had a big coffee, a protein shake, and 750 ml of water during my interval training, AND I was wearing shoes and clothes. The second weigh-in was taken maybe 45 minutes later, during which time I'd had another 1500 ml of water. What can I say, I was thirsty:). As you can see, I gained 2.2 lbs in under 45 minutes!! I was probably up a total of 3.5-4 lbs from when I woke up.
Moral of the story, STOP basing your progress AND self worth on what the scale tells you. It is about as credible and valid as the words that come out of Sarah Palin's mouth, and that's saying a lot!!
